NEW FICTION: “A Slasher Cozy.” 120 Murders: Dark Fiction Inspired by the Alternative Era. (ebook options here). Edited by Nick Mamatas. Ruadán Books. Released April 8, 2025.

Very thrilled to have a new story, “A Slasher Cozy,” in this long-awaited and banger antho from Nick Mamatas. My story is mostly inspired by Babes in Toyland’s “He’s My Thing.”
ANTHO SYNOPSIS: After midnight is as dark as it gets…
Whether thanks to an overnight college radio shift or cable pumping flickering videos into TVs across America, the music of the alternative era was the soundtrack to our lives, and sometimes our deaths. 120 Murders is an anthology of power chord crimes and keyboard horrors–the best noir and dark fantasy, and transgressive fiction from writers inspired by grunge, goth, ska, synthpop, and every electric sound of the alternative era.
This was such a fun antho to be a part of, and also fun to read. Even Daniel Handler (!!!) had a good time: “These stories move like a counterargument against the state of the world, whispering in my ear like an insect or an instinct—a mosquito or my libido, a denial, a denial, a denial, a denial, a denial.”

Babes in Toyland’s Fontanelle gets shout-out in Pitchfork!
Amy Phillips referenced Fontanelle in her wonderful revisit of the Babes seminal album, alongside other great resources about the band and their era. Well worth a read; check it here.

StarShipSofa, Episode 749, “The Şehrazatın Diyoraması Tour.”
My only sci-fi/steampunk tale has been made audible over at StarShipSofa. You can listen to it here or on Spotify. Narrated by Christina M. Rau.
This story originally appeared in Sarah Hans’ Steampunk World in 2014, and can also be found in Calls for Submission.

NEW FICTION: “La Chrysopée des Sirenes.” The Dagon Collection. Edited by Nate Pedersen. P.S. Publishing. Released January 1, 2024.
Named Best Anthology of 2024 by Rue Morgue magazine! This is the much anticipated follow-up to Nate’s The Starry Wisdom Library, both from PS Publishing. Both tomes are gorgeous, esoteric, and full of wonderful scholarly and fantastic bibliomania. My story is another installment of my Bas Bleu Sisterhood tales (blended with a bit of Lovecraftiana).

NEW FICTION: “The Veils of Sanctuary,” Sisterhood: Dark Tales and Secret Histories. Edited by Nate Pedersen. Chaosium Inc. May 17, 2021.
This is my first full on Bas Bleu Sisterhood tale independent of Lovecraft and/or Carcosa cosmos.
